The Ecclesiastical Hunters are those hired and trained by the Catholic Church to fight what they believe is a Holy War. They consider the Predators demon spawn, and have given each of the different bloodlines nicknames over the centuries, ranging from Succubus to Hellhound. Many of them are fanatical, and for that reason alone can be quite dangerous. They will give hot pursuit, believing that God will protect them, where most other Hunters would stop. The numbers of the Ecclesiastical Hunters tend to fluctuate perpetually; usually, for every young priest who joins, another is killed at the hands of a Predator.

The Church still believes that a Predator may not look upon or touch a cross, and that a stake through the heart is the most effective method of killing one of these Demons. In short, they rely on the methods of myth and legend for killing the Predators. Over time this has slowly begun to change, but more often than not Ecclestical hunters seem to be stuck in the medieval dark ages.

Often, the Hunters from the Church still rely on methods handed down through myth and legend for killing the Predators. Luckily, some of those things do work, and Hunters who live long enough learn to rely on Sunlight and destroying the Predator's heart to kill him.

Ecclesiastical Hunters often carry swords, for decapitating the Predators; it doesn't seem to have struck them yet that decapitation will kill anyone, not just a vampire.
