Smoke & Mirrors is a multi-genre room with storylines ranging from Fantasy to Science Fiction, and everything else found in between. We strive to provide freeform roleplay in a variety of settings all in one place. So come in, check out the available storylines, make a character, and join the fun. It is an open theatre and you are the actors, just keep in mind that there are no illusions here. It's all done with smoke and mirrors. Please check the Homepage of the Storyline you're interested in for further details, or contact the storyteller if no homepage is available.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns in regards to any of the Storylines we offer please contact the person in charge of the that particular Storyline. They will help you out to the best of their ability Smoke & Mirrors is not a completely open room. This means that you aren't free to bring in whatever you want and go ahead and play to your heart's content. However, RP not related to the official Storylines may be allowed at the Hosts' discretion. Contact them if you have any questions or requests with regards to this particular situation.
The general room rules, which everyone is expected to obey, are as follows: 1. Abide by InfinityBound's AuP. 2. If you have a question, ask it. If you have a problem, tell the staff. We'll do our best to help. Respect the staff, and do not argue with their decisions. Their word is final. If you -do- have a serious dispute with a decision made, e-mail one of the Hosts with your complaint and we'll see if we can't work out something more mutually agreeable. 3. Smoke & Mirrors is rated 18+, and may contain scenes of violence or adult nature. However, no sexually explicit posts in public are allowed. If you have to do it, take it to PM's or a private room. No one else wants to watch. 4. No crossing over between settings. That is, you're more than welcome to have characters in each Storyline, but trying to use the same character in each different one doesn't work and isn't allowed. Don't try it. 5. While it won't be strictly enforced as a rule, it would be greatly appreciated if you included the Setting and/or Storyline you're participating in somewhere within your tag. It will vastly help to eliminate confusion and mingling between settings. 6. Pictures: Size limit is 450x450 pixels and 50KB. Some of the Storylines have an Avatar reserve in effect. If you reserve an avatar for a particular Storyline, that doesn't mean you own it across the board. Someone else may still use it in another SL. Also, if someone is already using a particular person/art piece for their character, but have not actually reserved it, you may not reserve it and expect them to change their pic. You'll just have to learn to share. No frontal nudity. If you are unsure of your image, contact a Staff member and they'll tell you if it's okay or not. 7. OOC: Don't argue OoC. Just don't do it. Leave your squabbles at the door and enjoy yourself. OoC chatter is fine as long as it's not disruptive. If people are trying to RP and request that people talk less OoC, respectfully comply. As an additional note, anyone may request less OoC. Whether or not it comes from a host, you'll be expected to co-operate.
